How automation workflows work
Build a workflow once and let it run on a schedule, on demand, or via API.
Last updated August 13, 2026
Automations are visual workflows made of steps (AI actions, notifications, webhooks, review checkpoints).
A workflow can be triggered:
- Manually, whenever you choose
- On a schedule you set
- Via an API call from another system
If a workflow fails repeatedly, ResponsiveMe opens an incident automatically and can pause the workflow after too many consecutive failures, so a broken automation does not keep failing silently. You will see a notification when that happens.
Each AI step inside a workflow consumes AI Credits the same way running that action manually would -- automations do not have separate pricing.
